Racing at Taupo during the summer holiday season is hugely popular, with thousands flocking to the course for a great day at the races. It’s an unbeatably relaxed, family-fun day of country racing. A great day out for the very little cost and best of all, everyone’s welcome!

Free kids activities from Bouncy Castles, Face Painting and Competitions throughout the day. Live entertainment and a Big Screen along the Home Straight so everyone can see activities and racing.

Bring a picnic and/or eat from the variety of Food Vendors on-site. Bars will be fully stocked with the most popular beverages - No BYO. Bags will be checked on arrival.

It’s an easy drive from town with the Taupo Racing Club located just ten minutes from the CBD at Centennial Park on Centennial Drive.

With Taupo's uniquely free-draining pumice soil it makes the track a favourite for racehorse trainers from all over the North Island and plenty of New Zealand’s best racehorses can be found on-course. So get along and have some fun!
